Summary

This invention describes a qubit device for use in a quantum computing environment. The device includes a silicon substrate having a surface with silicon and transition metal (TM) at a certain stoichiometric ratio co-deposited and capable of reacting with low-temperature annealing and preventing silicon diffusion while forming a superconducting metal-rich transition metal silicide (TMSi) film on the surface and to form a TMSi heterojunction of silicon and metal-rich TMSi.
