Summary

The invention disclosure describes the use of increased expression of BASS4 to enhance lipid production. The disclosure includes a variety of other factors which can be co-expressed along with BASS4 to further increase lipid production. The disclosure identifies certain promoters that can be linked to the BASS4 cDNA to design transgenic plants expressing in certain tissues.
