Accelerator Research & Development Division

The Accelerator R&D Division (ARDD) was formed at the Collider-Accelerator Department (C-AD), in order to highlight and consolidate the significant accelerator R&D efforts occurring at C-AD.  The Division is headed by the Department’s Associate Chair for Accelerator R&D, Ilan Ben-Zvi, with Vladimir Litvinenko serving as the Deputy Head and Gary McIntyre as the Deputy Head for Engineering. The Accelerator R&D Division comprises the following groups: Superconducting RF, eRHIC R&D group, Energy Recovery Linac (ERL), the Photocathode R&D, and the LARP group. In addition to R&D efforts the members of these groups participate in and support RHIC operations. The Accelerator R&D Division also has a connection to the Stony Brook / Brookhaven Center for Accelerator Science and Education (CASE).
