Speakers Bureau

Brookhaven National Laboratory’s scientists, natural resource specialists, science educators, and community engagement professionals are pleased to share their expertise about a wide variety of topics that inform the community.

Lab speakers are available free of charge and are selected based on the needs of the public and the availability of the speakers bureau professionals. The Lab will do its best to accommodate all requests. The speakers bureau recommends requests be submitted at least four weeks ahead of the event date.

Please send an email with the following information to community@bnl.gov to request a speaker:

  • Name, phone number, and email of main contact
  • Organization and how many people usually attend meetings
  • How long of a presentation would you like (range is 15 – 30 minutes)
  • Include the topics you would be interested in hearing about such as: Lab overview, Lab science, Educational Programs, Workforce development/job opportunities, upcoming community programs, open houses, etc.  If you’d like a specific scientific topic please describe.

Examples of some of the groups that have enjoyed speakers from the Lab’s speakers bureau include local Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, civic associations, chambers of commerce, local astronomy clubs, and environmental and natural resource groups.
