Check that your training status as a generator of hazardous waste is up-to-date. To ensure that you are within the
one-year qualification period for course HP-RCRIGEN3, consult the
BNL training database. If you haven't taken the
training please take it now (Hazardous Waste Generator HP-RCRIGEN3), the web based course takes approximately 30 minutes
to complete.
Once you have generated waste it must be properly labeled, and placed in a Satellite Accumulation Area or brought
directly to the NSLS 90-Day Accumulation Area. All waste stored in a Satellite Accumulation Area must be moved to the
NSLS 90-Day Accumulation Area at the end of your experiment.
Waste labels and forms are located inside the NSLS 90-Day Accumulation Area. Please fill in all of the sections on
the waste label and control form (directions). During normal work hours (8:30am-5:00pm), contact
Tom McDonald (x4483) before placing any waste in the 90-Day Area.
During off hours, you can place the waste in the NSLS 90-Day Area
and slide the completed forms under Tom McDonald's office door (1-177). Please make every effort to meet with
Tom McDonald (x4483) before leaving
the NSLS so that he can ensure that the waste forms and labels are properly completed.
