Condensed Matter Theory Group
Institute for Strongly Correlated and Complex Systems
We founded the Institute for Theory of Strongly Correlated and Complex Systems at Brookhaven to establish an atmosphere where synergetic interactions, free exchange of ideas, and cross-fertilization between the different fields of theoretical physics could take place. The main focus of the Institute is to advance the theory of strongly correlated and complex systems and to bring them closer to each other and to experiment. The everyday functioning of the Institute consists a small number of both short and long term visitors, either theorists or experimentalists.
We also organized yearly one week workshops with a larger number of participants. Recent conferences include:
- Emergent Phenomena in the Dynamics of Quantum Matter, 2014
- Recent developments in Fe-based high-temperature superconductors, 2013
- Frontiers of quantum condensed matter: light, matter and unusual devices out of equilibrium, 2013
- Strongly Correlated Physics in the Cuprates, 2012
- Quantum Quenches and Strongly Correlated Physics, 2011
