Beam time availability

Beam time at X9 can be obtained through general user (GU) proposals. As a facility beamline operated by the NSLS, 50% of the beam time at X9 is available to the research community through general user proposals. A fixed fraction (currently 10%) of the general user time is dedicated to rapid access biomolecular solution scattering. In addition, general user proposals can also be submitted to the Center for Functional Nanomateirals (CFN) to access part of its 25% Contributing User time. The rest of the 25% of the time is mainly used for beamline commissioning and R&D.

NSLS GU proposal should be submitted through the PASS system. Information on CFN GU proposals can be found here.
