Join a Workforce Development Subcommittee

Get involved in developing the workforce of the future. Join one of our subcommittees: 

Internships: Noel Blackburn (BNL) blackburn@bnl.gov. Leverage current Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science’s Community College Internships and Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships programs to encourage students to participate in a program within the C2QA quantum research areas. All partners can participate in DOE programs as long as they have a collaborator at one of the labs.

Career Development: Diana Murphy (BNL), dfmurphy@bnl.gov. Creation of a yearly career fair that increases the awareness of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science five National Quantum Information Science Research Centers, career paths in quantum information sciences, and open positions within these centers.

Postdoc Programs: Tina Brower-Thomas (Howard), tina.browerthomas@howard.edu. Establish better communication for partner institutions to share their open positions and the establishment of a self-governing postdoc committee.

Pre-College (Q12): Sophia Economou (Virginia Tech), economou@vt.edu; Scott Bronson (BNL), sbronson@bnl.gov. Develop a strategy and broaden outreach of quantum information sciences in the K-12 communities to include the Quantum Information Science and Engineering High-School level Summer School in July 2021.

Speakers Bureau: Noel Blackburn (BNL), blackburn@bnl.gov. Development of the speaker’s bureau to focus on partnering with researchers from C2QA to present their work to underrepresented college students from minority-serving institutions.
