Safety Engineering Group
The Safety and Engineering Group provides a wide range of subject matter expertise for accident and injury prevention at BNL.
Our mission is to provide a safe environment for all Laboratory employees and visitors and ensure that BNL is in compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements. The Safety and Engineering Group supports both Science and Facility Operations.
We support both Science and Facility Operations in the following areas:
- Interpretation of Federal, State and local regulatory requirements;
- Determination and minimization of environmental, health and safety risks;
- Worker safety and health protection;
- Accident avoidance;
- Development of monitoring/surveillance plans;
- Other safety-related assistance as needed.
