Detector and Research Equipment Pool

The Detector and Research Equipment Pool team maintains and deploys a limited collection of state-of-the-art instruments, which are shared among beamlines and extend the facility’s capabilities beyond its dedicated installations. This equipment includes pixel array and spectroscopic detectors, diagnostics, electronics, and temperature control components.

NSLS-II beamline scientists may request instrumentation as needed to accommodate special experiments or to respond to equipment failures. The Research Equipment Pool team subsequently supports beamline teams with scheduling, deployment, and technical information. Users should reach out to their beamline contacts to make instrumentation inquiries.
