CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen Antivirus
Antivirus procedures are an important component of BNL’s host-based security architecture. Antivirus software is the component of this architecture that provides a protection mechanism against malicious code. Properly installed antivirus software can minimize these vulnerabilities
All BNL Owned systems will be migrated from TrendMicro over to CrowdStrike for antivirus and firewall functionality
For Windows Based Computers
BNL-owned:
- All Windows systems must have CrowdStrike installed.
- Workstations/Laptops in the BNL Domain should be handled by our configuration management tool.
- Servers and non-domain members may require intervention by their respective system administrator.
Personal/Non-BNL-owned:
- Microsoft’s Defender Antivirus and Firewall is free for users and is recommended.
- Users' who prefer a different AV product need to ensure that the AV solution has an active support contract and is currently receiving content updates.
For Mac Based Computers
BNL-owned: All Mac’s must have CrowdStrike installed. If you need assistance, contact the ITD Help Desk to have Ivanti installed, which will install CrowdStrike.
Any personal Mac’s running Trend should be prepared to remove it by the time the license expires at the end of August 2024.
