Use the TripShot app to schedule your shuttle ride

TripShot is an all-in-one rider app that allows you to plan and reserve shuttle rides. With the app you can:

  • Reserve a shuttle ride to the train “Routes” and select “Train Station Run”
  • Request a ride on-site through the app with “On Demand”
  • Track shuttles in real time and view estimated arrival times.
  • Access an interactive map of Brookhaven Lab which also includes points of interest such as electric vehicle charging stations, food services, BERA facilities, and more.

To get started, download the app to your mobile phone or tablet.

On-site Courtesy Shuttle

The on-site Courtesy Shuttle offers on-call, door-to-door service on campus between 8 a.m. and 9:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

If calling, provide location of pickup, location of drop-off, and number of passengers.

Requests are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Be prepared to meet the van at the main entrance of your building. In order for us to serve as many customers as possible, be ready to board the van before making the call for pickup.

Summer Schedule Route

The time for the route from the apartments to SUSC is approximately 30 minutes. These routes will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and will meet in the front entrance of the building unless noted below. Call Ext. 2714 if you require any medical accommodations.

Routes will be displayed in Tripshot.

All RHIC employees/interns will be picked up from building 488 Berkner Hall at 8:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. pick up starting at building 1005. Coordinate your trip to meet these times. If you miss the shuttle, then you will need to wait until after the route's completion for the shuttle to go to RHIC.

Ronkonkoma LIRR Train Station Shuttle

A shuttle van operates Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays and Laboratory closures, to transport Laboratory staff, guests, and visitors to and from the Long Island Railroad Ronkonkoma train station. Riders are asked to be certain they have their badge before arriving on site.

Due to limited seating, reservations are required. If the shuttle is full, you will be put on the waitlist if and when a seat becomes available. Reserve a seat using TripShot.

  • Reserve a shuttle ride to the train "Routes" and select "Train Station Run" and select which time and location you need to be picked up from.
  • All shuttles will depart from the Laboratory at the bus shelters of Bldg. 400 on Bell Avenue and SUSC.
  • The Courtesy Service will only accommodate bags/parcels that fit on the passenger's lap or beneath their seat.
  • Passengers arriving at the Ronkonkoma LIRR station should exit to the north side of the tracks and wait at street level in front of the Long Island Railroad Ticket Office. The shuttle will wait 10 minutes from the time the train arrives for passengers to board.

Shopping Shuttle

The Shopping Shuttle is a courtesy shuttle that makes multiple trips between the Laboratory and the Southport Shopping Center (PDF), Walmart, and Lidl.

The shuttle does not operate on December 24, 25, 31, January 1, or July 4.
