NSLS May-August Ops Cycle: Survey Responses

The Department of Energy requires NSLS and other DOE facilities to report about user satisfaction. User feedback from end-of-run surveys helps to improve user services. Survey responses on the NSLS May-August operations cycle included comments on the roof repair over the X-Ray Ring and lost beamtime. Both topics are being addressed, and NSLS “unscheduled” operations is now planned as follows:

  • VUV Ring startup Wednesday, September 12, with operations beginning on Friday, September 14, at noon
  • X-Ray Ring startup Thursday, September 13, with operations beginning no later than Monday, September 17, at 8 a.m.
