All users coming to the NSLS to work on a beamline must have an active appointment with Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) which requires on-line registration and approval. Please note that guests, visitors, and users who do not have approval prior to arrival (and foreign national users with expired passport or INS documents) will not be permitted on BNL property. If you have any questions, contact the NSLS User Administration Office at 631-344-USER (8737).
Most users will be able to be approved for site access within 14 days or less. This approval can be affected by the placement of a User Agreement, which is required by the U.S. DOE to be in place between the user's institution and Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). If you are coming from an institution that has not already placed a User Agreement with BNL, this should be done concurrently with your registration. For a list of institutions with User Agreements already in place, please refer to this link: http://www.bnl.gov/userscenter/Agreements/NPUA.asp
